You have design needs, but you’re not a designer

As an entrepreneur or content creator, your focus is on creating content, and growing and running your business.

My name is Kiyong Kim. I’ve been working full time as a designer for 20 years! I currently work as a UX/UI Designer at a travel company. I worked at Shazam and Napster, and worked at multiple agencies with clients including Disney, Lexus, Paramount, and more.

But I’m also an entrepreneur. I ran a successful Airbnb, I taught a writing class online, and I have an e-commerce business where I sell physical products using Amazon FBA that generated over 200k in revenue last year. I know what it’s like to juggle so many things as an entrepreneur.

I want to help entrepreneurs take control of their creativity. Design isn’t just about graphics and aesthetics. Design is a process and a way of thinking, and is integral to business. Design is about structure and user experience. I want to empower people to make creative decisions, even if they don’t think they’re artistic or creative. You can hire a designer on Fiverr or find a friend or student to make a logo or graphic, but if you don’t know what to ask for, or what to look for, how will you know if it will help or hurt your business?

I show people how to balance design principles, business needs, and user needs. I don’t want to teach people how to become full time designers, and I don’t want to teach theory. I want to teach practical things that entrepreneurs can apply right away to create and expand their business.

You can watch my videos on YouTube, read articles on my blog, or contact me if you’re interested in working together. I’m working on several online courses that will help entrepreneurs just starting out and forming their company, or established companies rebrand and redesign their website.
